Tara Evans Therapy

About me

Hello, I’m Tara, thank you for visiting my website. As a Counsellor I strive to create a safe, nurturing space where you can feel truly heard and understood. I’m here for you and want you to know that I approach our sessions with warmth, inclusivity, and empathy. I understand that everyone’s journey is unique, and I am here to support you collaboratively, without judgment.

I have experience working with various concerns such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self-esteem, trauma, and more. I aim to be compassionate and respectful of your process. Drawing from my own personal experiences, I believe in the transformative power of therapy as a tool that can help you develop stronger self-awareness, self-acceptance, and achieve your goals.

I hope to create an environment where you feel safe to share with me whatever you need to. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship can facilitate healing from past traumas, challenge coping mechanisms that may no longer be helpful, and offer a sometimes much needed space that is just yours.

Counselling with me

I know it can be daunting to choose a counsellor and a big decision to begin therapy, especially if things are feeling difficult in your life. I offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation before we get started so you can see if you feel comfortable with me. There will be a further chance for you to see how I work in the first 50 minute session.

Professional Membership

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and uphold their code of ethics. I am also registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office adhering to current GDPR regulations.

Training and Qualifications

I am fully qualified in Counselling and Psychotherapy with a Master’s degree from the BACP Accredited University of the West of England, Bristol with distinction.

I also have a Level 4 Certificate in Counselling from the University of the West of England, Bristol.

I am trained in many modalities of counselling, which means I can tailor the therapy to suit your needs. We may look at how your early relationships, especially with caregivers, and also your previous life experiences can affect your behavioural and relationship patterns today. If you feel it would be beneficial, we can also look at the role of the body in connecting to emotions. Sometimes the body can communicate to us how we feel if words are hard to access. We could also use creative techniques if this appeals to you. We can do this all at your pace and I will follow your lead with strong empathy, genuineness, and compassion towards you. I believe we are equals, and I am committed to maintaining this respect throughout our journey together.

Specialist Areas

My speciality is (though not limited to) working with clients to explore their relationship patterns and attachment dynamics, spanning all types of relationships. I am dedicated to providing a space that is warm and empathetic and also deeply accepting, I recognise the sensitive nature of this work and understand the importance of creating an environment where you can feel a sense of security with me.

Fees

Fees are £50 per 50 minute session for individuals and £80 for couples. Concessionary prices are available.
